To Steve the Neighbor

This card was created for neighbor Steve. He fell off his bike and hurt himself pretty badly a few weeks ago, so I thought it might cheer him up a bit to have a nice little gift from the neighbors who brought him to the hospital :) . He is doing better now - and was very thankful for the card.

My inspiration.

I was excited to figure out this idea - it opens like a real band-aid!

Books!

I currently have a few books in the making (sketchbooks/notebooks) & will be updating you with each step of the process. So far I have my covers cut & bone-folded, the pages are cut, folded & stitched together. I have a few nice decorative papers for the covers, but am still on the search for nice book cloth. My goal is to have DIY videos on creating cards and books available to viewers soon, so be on the look out :)

Mother's Day Cards

This year I created Mother's Day cards for 8 amazing women. I found some great card-stock and scrap-booking papers & went to town. I had a lot of fun choosing the color combinations with some really funky textured papers.

Allison's Card

Here is a card I made for my friend Allison. I started off racking my brain for a few days on what I would like to create for my mom's birthday, during this process I was visually taken by my blue textured craft paper paired with the yellow metallic craft paper. I knew it wouldn't do for a birthday combination, I was looking for something a bit more feminine in the color palette. So I started playing with my hole punch and multi-colored card stock, attempting to create some images with the small circles. I then thought it would be fun to make a circle with lots of small circles. When I created a mock up of one circle with purple, I decided I should use a gradient of purple pieces. Oh and of course I began thinking of a certain someone when circles started forming on my paper, this is due to the fact that Allison enjoys creating abstract geometric art. I knew she would appreciate getting a little gift in the mail, and what's better than finding a little love in your mailbox at the end of a long day?

Polona's Card

I created this card for my Pen-pal Polona. She lives in Slovenia and is currently attending school in Germany. I created the design on the front of the card from the patterned paper inside the card, the color palette is based off of the inner paper. I also made an envelope for the card so Polona could choose to keep the card for herself or send it to a loved one :) .

Mom's Birthday Card

This is the card I made for my mother on her birthday this year. The design is inspired by some 60's and 70's patterns I had researched, the color palette is based around my mom's favorite color: Yellow.
