Final drawing stage begins - 1/2 way there!

Half way into the drawing portion that is...I still need to choose colors and then stitch the piece! The drawings have been expanded to 4" squares & they will eventually be in a warm pine wood frame :) - can't wait to see them as a set!

An Art Show for Steven

So here it is! A poster for the art show benefiting Lindsey's Brother! - If you are in or around the area it would be greatly appreciated if you came out to support the cause!

Idea for 9 framed pieces

This is an extension of my larger piece that I will be making for the art show / benefit in LA in just 2 weeks! My plan is to stitch each drawing through rice paper & frame each individual 3-3/4" square. I will be choosing my frames tomorrow before I start my shift at work :) I'm excited to see these finalized! I will be updating through the rest of the week, I plan on moving this piece along as quickly as possible - lots of work to be done! (there will be better lit photos in the future - i know it's a little rough to see).

Most Recent Portfolio Piece

Here is an update on my newest portfolio piece, I decided to take a few quick snapshots of it this morning. It is in progress & on its way to being finished, framed and put up for sale at a show benefiting my friend Lindsey's brother who is in critical care in Florida at the moment. There will be more information on that show as it gets closer (coming up on June 23rd!)  so those available and interested can attend. Enjoy :)

If you can't tell - I will be blunt, it is a decapitated man hanging by his feet (originally from a bridge in the photo). The flowers in the background are forget-me-nots , and those are lotus flowers bordering the piece. I was somewhat taken back by the photos that were scattered throughout the magazine article - I decided to create this piece with intention of speaking about a mix of human rights/ and the apparent human need to see this type of imagery.

This is by far one of my favorite pieces yet. I hope it grabs your attention as well.
